My name is Fallon Turner, and I am 23 years old. I was born with hydrocephalus, and I also have cerebral palsy. When I was 4 years old, I was also diagnosed as being legally blind.
I graduated from high school in 2006. Now, I work part-time at Starbucks Coffee, and I am taking a Braille transcription correspondence course through the Library of Congress. I also train at the gym 6 days a week so I stay very busy.
When I was in high school, I took P.E. all four years which consisted of weightlifting. After high school, I wanted to keep lifting weights so I decided to join Icon Gym & Training. I heard about a wheelchair bodybuilder named Chad McCrary who trained at Icon so I contacted him to see if he could help me pursue my goal. At first my goal was to powerlift. After six months of powerlifting, I realized that it would be a struggle to find local competitions. Chad encouraged me to consider training to be a bodybuilder. After training for a year and a half, I entered my first show on June 7, 2008 - the NPC Lone Star Classic held in Plano, Texas.
I continued to train as a member of Team Icon along with my fellow bodybuilders, John Clack, Chad McCrary, Jaremy Lynn, Stosh Skinner and Stew Scott. They have been my biggest supporters and have encouraged me to follow my dreams.
In February of 2009, I became a member of Anytime Fitness. My trainer is John Clack, former owner of Icon Gym & Training, who has always inspired me to be the best I can possibly be. I believe in training hard, following your dreams, and I live by the motto, "Nothing is Impossible if You Believe."
